I recently built a new hackintosh using the Asus P8P67 LE motherboard. I’m not going to write a full tutorial for it, it’s basically the same process as the P5Q Pro Turbo, except most, if not all, kexts can be found in Tonymacx86′s Multibeast. It works well except for IDE, USB 3, and sleep. It’s running Lion and I’ve updated to 10.7.1, the only issue I had was with audio but I just had to reinstall the drivers. If you need help I’ll do my best to help.

friend a question, is that I have that same board and it’s p8p67 mountain lion, then the sound works for me then I wondered if I can help with the sound settings. sorry for my English that is that I speak Spanish.
this is my email so I can help send me any information concerning my situation.
thank you very much
Hello,
I have also this motherboard and lion 10.7.2. Everything work except the shutdown and the sleep. When I shutdown, the computer shutdown but poweron after 3 seconds. Do you have the same behaviour?
Thk in adv!
Mine was doing that for a while, I’m not sure what I did but it stopped.
Mhh have the same problem. Did you do some DSDT patching? Or BIOS update or so which could have fixed the shutdown issue? Would be cool if you could your DSDT if you patched … for comparing
I didn’t use a DSDT or update the Bios. I think it might just be some of the settings I used in Chameleon. I could post what my settings are if you’d like.
Im having the very same issue. Thanks for any hint.
I have the same motherboard/CPU setup.. sleep and power don’t work correctly.. running Lion and rolled back HDA drivers to get audio working.. the other issue I noticed is that if I’m downloading multiple torrents using Transmission, and the speed exceeds 2-3 megabytes per second, the computer freezes/kernel panics and says to hold power button and shut down. Also noticed that when playing my midi keyboard, if too many keys are pressed in a short period of time, system KP’s and says to shut down also.
Almost seems as if the OS can’t keep up with a lot of throughput going on.. gotta be something to do with BIOS/OS communication.. both USB and Ethernet inputs are causing KP’s if too much is going on.
P8P67 LE running 10.7.2 Shutdown works and doesnt restart anymore, except sleep doesnt wake up (yet to fix that) USB 3.0 Not working, Restart works
I’m looking for ASUS P8P67 LE DSDT file. Anyone can help me? Also I’m looking for a full instruction to install OS X Lion. Thanks, Pete
I haven’t been able to find a DSDT for the LE model, but my hackintosh works fine without it. For the guide it should be a similar process to one of the other P8P67 boards but a couple of the drivers will probably be different.
When you say it works; did you figure out sleep without DSDT or SSDT? This is the third iteration of my Hackintosh. I’ve been messing around with this one for a while. I have a process for getting everything but sleep to work, but being a perfectionist I keep banging my head against the wall trying to fix it. I keep breaking it trying to fix sleep and having to start over.
P8P67 LE
8 GB GSkill Ram
Intel i5 processor
GT9500 Video Card
Turtle USB Sound
1TB WD SATA Drive
Lion and/or Snow Leopard install via USB Thumb drive
No I never figured that out. I tried several things but none of them worked so I gave up on it for now. Hopefully someone figures it out eventually.
I got mine to shutdown by deleting the “AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext” and the “PXHCD.kext” only down side is a quick flash of some writing before turns off and stays off until button is pressed to turn it back on. Im also running an “HD6790- great card for windows 7 though” which im swapping out for an nVidia Gainward 560 Ti 2gb card due to 6790 not being supported (Probably wont be and i havent found a way) . Operating system is Mac OS X 10.7.2 32bit as 64 bit doesnt boot since new chimera 1.6.0. Still not sure if Sleep works though.
Hope this helps people.
Update:
Sleep just brings a black screen and clicking the mouse brings you back to the logon screen. The power supply does not power down and the power indicator light stays solid. The screen looks like its running a “blank screensaver” imo.
I also have the P8P67 LE but can’t get past Snow Leopard. I’m assuming your method started at Snow Leopard and upgraded to Lion, but I’m pretty much stuck in SL as any of the combo updates I run fails with an unknown error. Don’t really need Lion, but I would like to get sound working in either SL or Lion and it seems like everyone with this board has used ALC8XXHDA, HDA Rollback and ALC892 kexts, but none of that will get my sound to work. I’ve tried using multibeast and also Andy’s Bootloader from here (http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=252849), which was designed for P8P67 Pro.
Anyone run into a similar issue with sound that can offer some tips?
I think I went straight to Lion on that one since I had another hackintosh to make the Lion installer. You could check the end of my installation guide for the P67 Sabertooth, it might help you with the updates. The drivers aren’t exactly the same but the audio ones are. Not sure why the drivers aren’t working though, maybe they aren’t compatible with the older versions of Snow Leopard.
